報告題目：Semigroup Theory, Spectral Analysis and Applications to Structured Models

報告摘要：In this talk we will introduce some fundamental concepts and results in semigroup theory (spectrum, spectral bound, growth bound, resolvent, Laurent’s expansion, integral resolvent formula) and spectral theory for linear operators. Then we will present some basics on abstract semilinear equations using semigroups and spectral theory. Finally, as examples we will apply these results to some structured models.

報告人簡介：阮世貴，教授，博士研究生導師。1983年本科畢業于華中師範大學數學系，1988年獲得華中師範大學數學系碩士學位，1992年獲得加拿大阿爾伯特(Alberta)大學數學系博士學位，1992-1994年在加拿大菲爾茲數學所(Fields Institute)和麥克馬斯特(McMaster)大學做博士後。1994-2002年在加拿大道爾豪斯(Dalhousie)大學數學與統計系先後任助理教授和副教授。現為美國邁阿密大學(University of Miami)數學系終身教授。主要研究領域是動力系統和微分方程及其在生物和醫學中的應用，在包括《PNAS》、《Lancet Infect Dis》、《Memoirs Amer Math Soc》、《J Math Pures Appl》、《Math Ann》等學術期刊上發表了約200篇學術論文，受到了國内外同行的關注與大量引用，2014 和2015年連續被湯森路透集團列為全球高被引科學家。擔任了一些重要學術期刊如《BMC Infectious Diseases》、《Bulletin of Mathematical Biology》、《DCDS-B》、《Mathematical Biosciences》、《Inter. J. Bifur. Chaos》等雜志的編委，是《Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering》的主編（數學）。
